while improving the quality of life in Tupelo and Lee County
Become a TYP to get the full benefits of events, socials and community opportunities
A program of the Community Development Foundation’s Chamber of Commerce division, our mission is to attract and bring together a group of young, active, civic-minded individuals who have a clear vision of Tupelo and Lee County's future as a great place to live and work.
We don't mean picking up trash on the highway - although we can hook you up to do that if you want to. We're talking about Habitat For Humanity and other ways to directly impact our community. Join TYP and get involved impacting and improving our community.
You know those moments that you just really want to do...nothing but acomplish something? TYP socials get it done. Hang out. Grab a drink. Network, and watch your professional career blossom.
Just because you come to a TYP event, that doesn't mean you will be put in charge of something. But we all know you were destined for greatness, right? Be a part of what's molding this community. Join TYP. Lead.
Molly is in charge of planning and coordinating all TYP Events. If you have an idea for one, send it her way. She specializes in being the point person for TYP and has many years under her belt in the customer service world. Favorite nouns: Husband. Kids. Ole Miss.
Mallory is in charge of all of the marketing for the Tupelo Young Professionals. When she is not at home with her husband and her cats, you'll find her out and about around town enjoying time with friends at a local venue.
Judd is Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and is still holding onto his TYP status as he turned 40 (again) this year. Married with children, and active in the community, you will never ever catch Judd sitting around idle. If he is not impersonating Elvis or actively involved in the community theater, he will be sitting at home screaming "roll tide" at his television.
The Tupelo Young Professionals currently have 137 members. Those members range from your small business owners, CEOs, and 9 to 5'ers. We've put on many events that have successfulyl placed TYPs in critical networking opportunities to grwo their circle of influence in the area.

TYPs don't just sit around and socialize. We get active. Active in community events. Active in community growth, and active in being a part of the next generation of leaders in our area. Join us!
Read. Learn from others. Surround yourself with other leaders that can inspire you.
Great leaders are readers! Here are a few of our favorites...
“There is no great leader here to do what you and I need to do and are privileged to do. And take my word for it there is no great, good, wise, warm, wonderful person in Jackson or Washington to wrap up 'the good community' in cellophane and send it to you”,
"You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."
“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction."
John F. Kennedy
When an organization joins the CDF Chamber of Commerce, any Young Professionals who are a part of that organization may join TYP for only $50 per year.
No organization? No problem! For individuals 40 and under, the TYP membership is only $50 per year.
“It is very important that we have young people getting involved in the community, bringing new and fresh ideas to the table. Tupelo Young Professionals is a great place to ignite these young leaders.”- Drew Dodd, BNA Bank -
The Tupelo Young Professionals hold 8 events each year. These events range from social networking gatherings to luncheons held at the CDF Center.
"I am involved with TYP because of the effort to connect young professionals of Tupelo with speakers that aim to educate & inspire those who wish to grow into leading members in our community."- Brittany Sanders, Century Construction -
