The Community Development Foundation’s Economic Development Division is responsible for the recruitment of new businesses and industries to Tupelo/Lee County, as well as the retention and expansion of existing businesses and industries.
Ultimately, the universal goal of economic development is to create new and better jobs for the citizens of a community.
The Economic Development Division offers new business development services to private-sector clients who are wishing to either locate or expand their business in Tupelo/Lee County.
CDF’s project managers work with state and regional agencies such as the Mississippi Development Authority, Tennessee Valley Authority, and North Mississippi Industrial Development Association to effectively market available buildings and sites to potential companies during the project process.
The Economic Development Division uses a proactive recruitment approach, which involves actively promoting our area’s labor force qualities, quality of life and amenities, and industrial real estate capacity. The staff promotes these community advantages at trade shows across the U.S. and in meetings with national site location consultants. Moreover, specialty skills in mapping and graphics, economic development research, facilities management, and workforce development are harnessed to highlight Tupelo/Lee County’s competitive advantages when vying for a project.
