Executive Director
Northeast Mississippi Contract Procurement Center

Bill Burge has been associated with the Northeast Mississippi Contract Procurement Center, Inc. for the past fifteen years. He currently serves as Director. NMCPC is a non-profit organization that serves twenty three counties in the Northeast Section of Mississippi and is part of the Mississippi Procurement Technical Assistance Program. The mission of NMCPC is to enhance national defense and economic development of the state of Mississippi by assisting existing Mississippi businesses in obtaining federal, state, and local government contracts. The services of NMCPC are provided to Mississippi businesses at no charge.

Prior to his tenure with NMCPC, Mr. Burge worked in commercial and real estate banking business for sixteen years. He has been active in various community activities serving as Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Exchange Club of Columbus. Bill has served on the Board of Directors for the Columbus-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and on various committees of the Columbus-Lowndes Development Link. He is a current member in the Mississippi Economic Development Council and holds certification as a Certified Contract Assistance Specialist with the National Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers. Bill also serves on the Professional Review Board with the National Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers.

Bill is a native of Mississippi, born and raised in Meridian. He attended public school in Meridian and earned a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1972. Bill completed The New South Economic Development Course at the University of Southern Mississippi as well as year one of The Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He has also completed various other professional and career economic development courses. He served with the Mississippi Air National Guard in Meridian. Bill and his wife Deborah, a public school teacher of 34 years, reside in Columbus. They have three sons.
