CDF AI Transparency Statement
How CDF Uses Artificial Intelligence
The Community Development Foundation (CDF) uses artificial intelligence tools to support our work, improve efficiency, enhance communication, and better serve our members, businesses, partners, and community.
CDF believes in being an AI-Forward organization, which means putting people first while building smarter with AI. AI may assist our team, but it does not replace the human judgment, relationships, trust, and accountability that define CDF’s work.
What AI May Help Us Do
CDF may use AI-assisted tools to help with:
- drafting and improving communications
- summarizing information
- organizing notes and reports
- supporting research
- improving workflow efficiency
- preparing first drafts of content
- assisting with marketing, events, Chamber communications, and economic development materials
AI tools are used to support staff work, not to replace staff responsibility.
Human Review and Accountability
CDF employees remain responsible for the final content, communications, recommendations, and decisions produced or supported through AI tools.
AI-assisted work is reviewed by CDF staff before it is used in public communications, organizational materials, reports, or decision-making processes.
Privacy and Confidentiality
CDF is committed to protecting confidential, personal, organizational, member, business, and project-related information.
CDF does not knowingly enter confidential or sensitive information into unapproved public AI tools. Internal guidance and safeguards are in place to help employees use AI responsibly and protect information that should remain private.
AI and Decision-Making
AI may help CDF organize information, summarize materials, draft content, or support analysis. However, AI does not make final decisions on behalf of CDF.
Important decisions remain subject to human review, leadership oversight, professional judgment, and applicable policies.
Fairness and Responsible Use
CDF seeks to use AI tools in a way that is fair, ethical, accurate, and aligned with our mission. Because AI tools can sometimes produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or misleading outputs, CDF emphasizes human review, fact-checking, and responsible oversight.
Questions or Concerns
If you have questions about CDF’s use of AI-assisted tools, or if you believe AI-assisted content or communication from CDF needs review, please contact us.
